The Westwood College Online Orientation* teaches new students how to use the MyPATH online learning platform and how to be successful in Westwood online programs. Students are enrolled in orientation prior to starting their first term. Just like an online class, orientation can be completed in one sitting or over the course of several visits. Instructors guide students through the process and can answer any questions about resources, technology or instructor expectations.
Orientation consists of five steps that teach students about online learning and provides instruction for using an online course tool. Activities include meeting and interacting in an online discussion, sharing short-term and long-term goals, researching student resources, planning a weekly schedule, taking online tests and submitting assignments. Content for each step includes advice from students and faculty and study tips to help students prepare to start their online education.
Westwood is committed to continuously improving the student experience and orientation is an important step in this process. Admissions representatives and support specialists contribute to and review the orientation on a regular basis and can assist students with any questions. We welcome feedback from students about their first-term experiences.
